running out of ideas

October 31, 2008

One of the biggest problems about being an artist that works with very literal ideas is that we run out of ideas really quickly.

The best think to do when out of ideas s to photograph hipsters riding their fixed gear bicycles.

the worst thing to do is to stay in bed.

a better thing to do is sleep on the couch.

a worse thing to do is to try to be a painter.

a better thing to do is to brush your teeth for an hour.

a worse thing to do is to eat bad shellfish.

a better thing to do is to buy something expensive.

a worse thing to do is to call everyone you know and not leave a message.

a better thing to do is to call NASA and leave a message wishing them luck on their next shuttle launch.

a worse thing to do is to poke a dead tree with a stick you found.

a better thing to do is to recycle a broken umbrella by mailing it to Arizona.

a worse thing to do is to build your own Soviet style “pig cannon”, which was actually a cannon the Russian’s built to fire pigs.

a better thing to do is digitize your parent’s porn collection to make internet dollars.

yeah… there goes a Hipster on a fixie. I have to get out there and get his photo.

I just read that a little over 6 hours ago the NASA Orbiting Carbon Observatory and its Taurus booster failed to reach orbit and crashed somewhere near Antarctica…WHYYYY!!! why did I not find your post before that to have given them a call? The NASA guys must be devastated loosing a rocket at this time of financial crisis. Crap..
